Amazon's covers are nice–they're not too bulky and provide good protection–but they are expensive. It's worth protecting your investment with a cover. Fire tablets are sturdy enough, but I've found the screens do scratch quite easily. Be sure to see our guide to managing Amazon Kids+ content. It costs $5 per month after the first year (for Prime subscribers, $8 if you don't have Prime). It also comes with one year of Amazon Kids+, offering access to kid-friendly movies, books, games, and apps. The Kids Edition versions are exactly the same as the regular Fire tablets, except they come with a rugged case and a two-year worry-free guarantee, which means Amazon will replace the tablet for free if your kids break it. The Fire 7 Kids ($110) is an even cheaper option for young children, though mine have always found the 7-inch screen size more challenging to use. The latter was recently refreshed and includes some new features like Music Maker, a kid-friendly music editing app (think GarageBand, but simpler). We think the 2022 Fire HD 8 Kids ($150) is the best device for younger kids, while the 2023 Fire HD 10 Kids Pro ($200), which is really big in little-kid hands, is better for older children. The latter, aimed at older kids, has a streamlined case with a little less padding. There's the regular Kids Edition and a “Pro” model. Recognizing that “kids” covers a wide range of hand sizes and other factors, Amazon has two different Kids Edition Fire tablets. See our Best Tablets guide for more mid-level tablet options that offer a better value than the Fire Max 11. If you want to do anything more than watch Prime video and browse the web, we suggest you spend the extra money on an iPad, Pixel Tablet, or Lenovo tablet. While Fire OS seems okay when you pay $50 for it on sale, it feels a lot more limiting at $230. However, this premium-priced tablet is still hamstrung by the same Fire OS that powers the cheaper models. The screen is bright and sharp enough, the speakers aren't bad, and the cameras are 1080p and nicer than the cameras on the rest of the Fire tablets. That said, if all you plan to do is consume Amazon content, and the price doesn't bother you, the Fire Max 11 is a good way to do it. The list of things an iPad can do that the Fire Max 11 can't is longer than I have space for here. With a base price of $230, you're only $30 away from a 9th-gen iPad. If you're all in on all things Amazon, the Fire Max 11 ( 5/10, WIRED Review) is the company's most powerful tablet. To get rid of that, you'll need to spend $15 more for the version without “special offers.” Whichever you choose, Amazon will serve up advertisements on the lock screen. You can choose between 32-GB or 64-GB models (with a microSD slot on both so you can add up to 1 TB of storage if you need more space). After that, you can set your HD 10 on a stand to essentially turn it into an Echo Show. To use Alexa's Show Mode, swipe down on the notification overlay and check the Show Mode box. As with the Fire HD 8, you can also shout commands at Alexa from across the room. The Fire HD 10 has a larger screen with more pixels (1080p) than its siblings, making it better for watching videos. None of Google's office apps work on the Fire HD 10, not even in the browser. I have not had a chance to test the new keyboard, but with the old version, working on the Fire HD 10 isn't bad, as long as you don't need Google apps. The old Fire HD 10 Plus, while still available for $180, appears to have been discontinued. There's a new keyboard option as part of the Keyboard Case Bundle ($190) if you want to do more than consume Prime content. The new model sports the same screen and 3 GB of RAM. We have not had a chance to try the latest model yet, but based on previous releases we think it's safe to say it's marginally faster. Amazon refreshed it in 2023 with a slightly faster processor (the company claims a 25 percent speed increase). The Fire HD 10 remains our favorite of Amazon's tablets.

Good luck to you Steven McQueen on all your future endeavors. It’s three months since your new year resolutions, and going to the gym five times a week did not really work out, but summer seems only minutes away. His character will certainly be a big loss, but I know it’s time for him to move on. I can’t believe that this is the last season we will get of Jeremy Gilbert gracing our screens. Yup, even in the recent season (so far) Jeremy Gilbert still sets hearts racing! Bonnie is one lucky lady! I rest my case. Jeremy is one of the good ones and that is something you’ve got to hand to him! I know he kind of cheated on Bonnie before when he kissed his dead ex girlfriend (not awkward at all, right?) but despite that, Jer wouldn’t intentionally hurt a fly. So with that said, let’s praise Jeremy’s extremely good nature. Moving aside all the comments I’ve made so far on Jeremy’s *ahem* amazing physique, he really is a sweet and caring guy. Jeremy-the-sex-god is in town and there’s no going back from that! Elena’s little brother is now a SEX SYMBOL! Move aside Damon, Stefan, Tyler … you name it. I just can’t stop staring at those amazing abs. Jer had officially become one of the hottest guys on The CW (which is saying a hell of a lot). Season four did wonderful things for Jeremy Gilbert as well as wonderful things for our eyes. Well, hello there hotness! I think this was the defining moment that the whole TVD fandom started to question themselves with, “Wait! When da fucque did Jer get hot?” No more lil’ Gilbert, I say! He certainly turned into one mighty fine guy/ Swoon! Season three? Now that is what I’m talking about. Way to go, dude! Jer was certainly on his way to becoming that nice, attractive guy we all know and love today! In Season two, Jeremy really started to uh, how should I put it? Develop! He quit the drugs and got that much-needed haircut. Oh and Jer, I’m so glad you ditched that black nail polish … not a good look! Even though dating a stoner kid (most likely) won’t be the best decision you could ever make, there was something still attractive about the guy. Season one Jeremy Gilbert just screams “IDGAF”. Let’s break down Jeremy Gilbert’s evolved hotness, starting from the very beginning! Whatever the reason behind his chiseled bod, I ain’t complaining! ‘Cause let’s face it, puberty has been seriously kind to the guy or someone has just been majorly hitting the gym. Who doesn’t love a bit of lil’ Gilbert? Now, now, no hiding behind that computer screen … I know you feel me!Īnd yes my friends, that’s exactly why I decided to dedicate this post to the evolution of Jeremy Gilbert. Don’t they just grow up so fast? *wipes tear* To be honest, I have loved every single minute of his growth (excuse the creepiness of that) and I’m sure you have too. And what a transformation that has been! It seems like only last week, Jer was that stoner kid, who hung out all alone, listening to grunge music in his room. Since TVD‘s first airing back in 2009, we’ve seen his character evolve from a troubled punk with black nails to a buff vampire hunter. Well, DUH! Have you seen that face? And, that bod? And, that… OK, I’ll stop now. McQueen no longer being a series regular after this season, I decided to give his character, Jeremy Gilbert, some much-needed recognition. Despite this, the Mark I remained as the Enclave's standard issue power armor until after the sacking of Navarro. By 2246, the advanced power armor Mark I was being phased out by the superior advanced power armor Mark II. The advanced power armor Mark I was the standard service armor of Enclave soldiers by 2241. This armor was developed off of the pre-War designed X-01 power armor, overcoming the flaws of its predecessor. Initially designated Mark II Powered Combat Armor, the advanced power armor Mark I is also the first model of power armor designed, produced and deployed after the end of the Great War. ĭeveloped by the Enclave in 2220, the advanced power armor Mark I is the first true production run of the advanced power armor family. Despite lacking access to the prototype's schematics, by 2287, the Institute had developed a modified polymerized casting mix to coat the armor, as well as other modifications that enhance the user's intelligence. Another group to develop upon the X-01 design, after the war, is the Institute. įull development was restarted by the Enclave in 2198, although it wasn't until 2215 that the research efforts began in earnest under Presidential mandate, resulting in the creation of the first model of Advanced power armor in 2220. This allowed the Enclave to create a limited production run of the suits, and for work to eventually continue on the model's development. The schematics for the armor were saved by the Enclave just before the bombs fell, with the organization keeping copies in the archives of their Poseidon and Whitespring facilities, including Control Station ENCLAVE. military, like the Enclave and Brotherhood of Steel, as well as the Institute. Īfter the Great War, a select few suits were engineered further and employed by remnants of the U.S. Further development was made impossible due to the outbreak of the Great War. While the suit served as a successful proof of concept of using a strontium-90 based plating over the armor, this improvement was not adopted into the armor's schematics, before the onset of the Great War. A single suit of X-01 was provided to the Nuka-Cola Corporation, as part of Project Cobalt. However, although the suit was technically functional by late 2077, it was burdened with numerous issues that precluded widespread use in the field. It represented a radically new approach to designing powered armor, eschewing traditional design philosophies that defined the T series, and was a high-profile research project meant to supersede previous power armor models. The armor usually carries enough fuel to last for one thousand years.Ĭommissioned by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the development of the X-01 began shortly before the Great War. The 10-micron-thick silver ablative coating can reflect laser and other radiation emissions without damage to the composite subsurface. Made of a poly-laminate composite, the outer shell of the T-51b is lightweight and capable of absorbing over 2500 Joules of kinetic impact. The armor is fitted with a back-mounted TX-28 MicroFusion Pack which generates an output power of 60,000 Watts to power the HiFlo hydraulic systems built into the frame of the suit. Now, only the most technologically advanced factions with ties to the pre-Great War American military or federal government, such as the Brotherhood of Steel or the Enclave, have access to this type of power armor. At the end of the Anchorage Reclamation in January 2077, the armor had become standard issue for American soldiers in the Army's Mechanized Cavalry Regiments. The T-51b powered Infantry armor represented the peak of armored infantry technology before the Great War, developed in the laboratories of the West Tek Research Facility. Sometime after 2242: After the destruction of the Oil Rig, the Enclave finished developing a Tesla Power Armor based on the standard advanced power armor, which provides less protection than advanced power armor, Mk II, but allows the wearer to wield energy weapons more effectively.October 2220: Enclave scientists finally develop a reliable version of what they call "advanced power armor." The prototype's capabilities (and the various accidents, explosions, and deaths involved in its creation) are classified by order of the Enclave's President Dick Richardson for the sake of morale. Many prototypes are developed and tested.
Will this program solve all of our typing problems? That being said, some children are hard to please when it comes to typing programs. It is much more fun than the boring/stressful typing classes we had to take when we were kids. Yes, there will be plenty of material for a whole year and it can definitely count for a credit.
In total, the future Interstate System would supply 385,000 total lane miles of capacity along a total system length of nearly 62,000 route miles. Accommodating the forecasted travel at the performance level used in this analysis implies the addition of about 5,760 lane miles per year. The Interstate System was never a "fixed" system, but has evolved from its inception as the Inter-Regional System, to additions replacements of routes like I-67 into I-69, the extension of I-70 from I-25 in Denver to I-15 in Utah, and I-12 as an intercontinental bypass north of New Orleans. The Federal Aid Highway Act of 1968 added 1500 miles that created I-49 and I-22. The Federal Aid Highway act of 1988 and ISTEA 1991 planned the extension of I-49 from Shreveport to Kansas City and I-69 from Indianapolis to Texas. The new Future Interstate Study will create totally new numbered Interstates as well of extending existing Interstate. Most of these routes will follow the existing National Highway System (NHS) corridors, but will also follow non-NHS corridors to increase capacity to relieve BOTH congested urban and rural routes. The new Interstate mileage corridors may increase the Interstate system to about 15,000 miles or more. The estimated Future Interstate System may total 67,000 miles. The new routes will match similar routes suggested in the large 78,000 mile system studied in 1941 Inter-Regional System. I arrived with a group of friends around 7 p.m. So, when the hostess told us it would be a 20-minute wait to be seated, we were not surprised. However, we were pleasantly surprised when the hostess came back in less than 10 minutes to seat us. We dined on a Wednesday night, which happened to be their half -price draft beer night.
